Andy Maschke founded Superior Saddlery after training as a saddlemaker in Europe before relocating to Arizona and later establishing the shop in Greenville, Texas. The shop's SYMMETREES system uses hardwood tree cores fully encapsulated in fiberglass, which eliminates the moisture warping that affects traditional rawhide-covered wood trees.

Donn Leson built reining saddles in Grants Pass, Oregon. He is no longer living and production has permanently ceased, making his saddles available only through the used market.
Dale Harwood received a National Heritage Fellowship from the National Endowment for the Arts. He opened his first saddle shop in Idaho Falls, Idaho in 1961 and built the last two saddles of his career in 2018. He made his own wooden saddle trees from scratch, processed his own rawhide, and hand-stamped the leather entirely by hand.

Circle Y was founded by Leland Tucker in Yoakum, Texas in 1960. The company produces western saddles across multiple disciplines and uses a Flex2 tree design.
Billy Cook began building saddles in Greenville, Texas in the early 1950s before relocating to Sulphur, Oklahoma. The company is now owned by Adam Trenk, an Arizona horseman and attorney.
